Babies and weddings dilemma

Help! Do I invite my friend's baby to my wedding?

Whether or not to have children and babies at your wedding can be one of the most stressful things to decide after finding that perfect dress!

Babies and weddings is a very emotive topic, for the bridal couple and for the parents in question. Whatever you do, someone's nose will be put out of joint! Many brides decide not to have any children at their wedding other than perhaps those of immediate family. And in fact, if the children are past the nappy stage, most parents actually relish the thought of offloading their darlings for the day! If you have friends with babies though, things are trickier as the Mum and Dad often don't want to leave them with babysitters and, actually would like the opportunity to show them off!

As a general rule of thumb, if the baby is breastfeeding, you can't really ask Mum to leave them behind. Most guests will understand this. Young babies at weddings don't require anything that the parents won't bring with them. If you're worried that the baby's crying will disrupt the service or speeches, if the parents are at all sensible, they'll take them for a walk at the crucial times.

Don't forget though that having babies at your wedding is a great opportunity to earn some brownie points with Mum and Dad and they definitely add the ahh factor to all those wedding photos!
