What to wear for a beach wedding? Well, if we assume that the sun is shining, the sea is murmuring in the background and the atmosphere is outdoor and relaxed, it's a very different scenario from the traditional indoor church ceremony. There might be a band hired to play to the guests, some dancing, a beach barbie. So beach wedding outfits can't be tight and constricted, shoes must be light and easy to walk in, and concessions must be made to the fresh-air ambience.

What could be prettier than a floaty, bias-cut sleeveless dress in silk, satin, chiffon or cotton? (We don't see many British brides doing a Pamela Anderson and getting wed in a bikini, although if you've got it, flaunt it!) With a light and breezy dress, you don't need much more than a gorgeous straw hat or a wreath of flowers in your hair. If you're a hippie chick, go for pretty flip-flops.The diamante wedding toe post sandal would be just perfect . Imagine your bridesmaids all in sunny yellow, or vibrant blue, or coral pink. How about the men in the beach wedding party?  It's all very well for the ladies to look elegant and cool in flowing fabrics, but the pictures will be spoilt with a sweaty groom or bright red father of the bride!  Encourage the men to wear natural fabrics that will let their skin breathe, cotton, linen or even silk are popular choices.  Do away with formality and let them leave the ties at home, and keep their shirts loose to catch the breeze.  Whatever they decide it may be worth just having a quiet word to ensure they have given their feet some loving attention.  If they are keeping cool by wearing sandals, and why shouldn't they, you don't want them to be displaying unkempt toenails or worse!
