There's something very warming about the idea of a winter wedding. The colours are richer, the rituals are more meaningful, the bonds of love and friendship seem stronger at this time of year. The images a Christmas wedding conjures up are a little Dickensian - fur and velvet, crinolines and curls, rosy cheeks and snowy dresses. Of course, the Victorian take on a Christmas wedding might seem old hat these days, but you can still have lots of fun designing a festive wedding. Red and green are the colours for a glowing Christmas wedding. Imagine sweeping up the aisle in a frosty white dress and ruby-red velvet cape. Or putting your bridesmaids into holly-green satin. And ruby-red sashes on those pretty bridesmaids' dresses...lovely. Or you could go for candle-white and gold, icy-white and silver - it's getting positively Narnian! Lots of Christmas greenery will be most appropriate to deck the halls with, and when you're designing the tables for the reception, don't forget crackers, tinsel and a sprinkling of (fake) snow to honour the season! As it's Christmas, your guests would love a prettily-wrapped gift to take away. And the music? Definitely seasonal Carols at the service, and "I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and "White Christmas" at the reception! Whatever style you choose for your Christmas wedding day, the team at Henry Kaye wish you a very merry Xmas and happy married future for 2012 and beyond.
