Fairytale Wedding Theme

If you really want to leave the real world behind for a day, why not go through the mirror and indulge in a fairytale theme for your wedding? After all, Jordan showed up in a glass carriage for her nuptials. If your role model is Titania rather than Barbie, however, you can create a veritable fantasy.

You could go to Narnia for winter weddings. Be a snow princess in a glittering silver dress and icy-diamond crown. This would work especially well if you could get married in a snowy winter wood or decorate your venue (preferably somewhere old and beautiful) with dry ice, tinsel and spray-frost. The groom would be in traditional fairy prince garb - doublet, ruff, breeches - let's hope he's dashing!

Or there's the more traditional Cinderella route. The venue? A castle, where else! A no-holds-barred white ballgown with a huge crinoline, tiara and lots of curls, with the groom in simple black tuxedo and white bow tie. Put your bridesmaids in outrageously romantic winter bridesmaid dresses or even a full-on sugarplum fairy dress or frothy sequin ballgown complete with sparkly slippers, fairy wings and fairy accessories. Then get out the champagne and take to the dance floor with a full orchestra playing. For some amazing ideas for a fairytale wedding, try to get hold of an old French film, La Belle et La Bete (or Beauty and the Beast), and dream on. It's romance, mystery and happy ever after all the way. Magic!
