It's the little details that people often remember about a wedding - the flowers on the table, the champagne glasses, the place mats. Pretty napkins are all part of the picture, and they're important because your guests will spend a lot of time at the table if you're having a traditional three-course reception dinner. So make them stylish!

white linen, rolled and secured with a silver or dark wood napkin ring, looks very elegant, but it's not the only way to go. You can fasten a napkin with a ribbon in your wedding theme colour, and add a flower or a feather to complement it. Add a luggage label with the guest's name written on it. Or fold the napkin like a pleated fan and put it in an empty wine glass so that the edges fall over the side.
Of course, you can use paper napkins too, but make sure you recycle them afterwards! For a fun touch, roll a wrapped sweet or chocolate coated mint up in the napkin for your guest to find, or place a photo from the wedding in it and fold it like an envelope. Alternatively, sprinkle an unfolded napkin with confetti, then roll it, so that it drifts out when unfolded. The ideas are only as limited as your imagination!
