Brides comes in all varieties. Some brides plan their wedding like a military operation, booking the venue three years in advance and meticulously supervising the day, down to the last napkin ring and song on the DJ's playlist. Not for them a romantic dash to Gretna Green or a haphazard last-minute dash to the register office.

 

Others are more willing to go with the flow, act on the spur of the moment, seize the day and so on. If you're one of those brides, you may be planning your wedding with a week to spare. But don't worry (were you anyway?) If the prospect of pulling it all together daunts you, hire a wedding planner. that way, you can use the time available to get your hair and nails done and search the shops for That Dress. Forget eBay, you don't want to miss the excitement of trying on dozens of frocks until you find the one!

 

Doing it yourself? Trawl the internet for last-minute venue and honeymoon deals - you might come up with a terrific bargain. Cancellations do occur and there are always some jewels waiting to drop into your lap if you can pack your bags (and wedding dress) at a moment's notice. Second, organise the ceremony. The big snag is going to be rounding up friends and family - if the wedding's next week, they may be booked already. You might have to trim your guest list accordingly.
