Royal Wedding Style fit for a Lady

The Wedding of Lady Rose Windsor and George Gilman - Wedding Style fit for a Lady

In the latest of the Royal Weddings, the Duke of Gloucester's daughter, Lady Rose Windsor exchanged wedding vows earlier this month with George Gilman, son of the former Leeds United Football club director, Peter Gilman. But rather than going for the all-out Royal Wedding, Lady Rose, the great-granddaughter of George V (and who is now known as plain Mrs Gilman!) kept things low-key and elegant. In fact it seems that the press has made more of the fact that Kate Middleton attended without Prince William and that Princess Anne recycled the outfit that she wore to Charles and Diana's wedding 27 years ago than of the bride and groom!!!

Lady Rose wore a stunningly simple white chiffon dress by Franka Couture to say those all-important vows. A floor sweeping veil and exquisite tiara that belonged to her great grandmother, Queen Mary, then finished the look to perfection.

But how can you inject a little of that royal sophistication into your own nuptials without having to sell the Crown Jewels to pay for it? Well, simple elegance is the key. Keep things as low-key as possible to give that air of grown up sophistication. Something long and flowing in chiffon and silks will make you feel like a Lady for the day. Accessorise with a long veil and although Queen Mary's tiara is probably a little out of your reach, a simple headband or understated tiara would look just as gorgeous.

As for the bridesmaids, Lady Rose chose elegant mint chiffon numbers in a similar style to her own for the adults. Somewhere like Monsoon would be good place for inspiration.  And the younger girls looked ultra-cute in understated white chiffon dresses with circle skirts and mint sashes. Our Isabella bridesmaid dress in white complete with leaf sash would be just perfect. Just add a pair of organza flower bridesmaids shoes for a look that   is truly royal!
