The sun may be shining here in the UK as we make the most of a British heatwave for once but in the rural villages of India, they asking the Gods for rain. Fed up with a prolonged dry spell, villagers in Assam have taken the unique measure of marrying two frogs in an attempt to please the rain gods. All the residents of Chipoha turned out for the unique wedding ceremony in which two frogs caught by the villagers themselves were joined in Holy Matrimony. In true wedding tradition, the frogs were decked out in wedding finery and the women even gave the frog bride a necklace for the occasion!

‘Tis the season of weddings again and the WAGs were out in force last weekend to celebrate the wedding of Chelsea and England footballer Joe Cole and his fiancée Carly Zucker. The wedding of the year took place at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, home to Chelsea pensioners. Chelsea and England Captain John Terry attended with his wife Toni along with Joe’s former teammate, Wayne Bridge and partner Vanessa Perroncel. Man U star Michael Carrick and wife Lisa were also on the guest list.

A Yorkshire couple are set to tie the knot this weekend a mere 33 years after they first got engaged! Paul Shaw and Jean Kilkaldy first met back in the heady '70's and got engaged in a flush of teenage romance. But fate intervened and they ended up going their separate ways. It was only after Jean registered on the social networking site Friends Reunited, that the couple found each other again.

Residents in Lincolnshire thought that they were being invaded by little green men over the weekend when mysterious orange lights were spotted coursing through the night sky. Dozens of the bright lights were spotted on Saturday evening, prompting local residents to contact the local paper, The Echo and send in photographs of the phenomenon. The strange sightings even made the national press with The Daily Mail, The Sun and The Telegraph all running the story. Local newlyweds, Clare and Adrian Bowers have come forward though to say that actually the unexplained orange lights were just the chinese lanterns released into the night skies as part of their wedding celebrations!!

Well you might want tell him that new research published by the Max Planck Institute in Germany suggests that men are likely to live longer if they marry a younger woman! A man’s chances of dying early are reduced by 11% if they walk down the aisle with a woman seven to nine years their junior. And if their wife to be is 15 to 17 years younger then the chances of them meeting an early grave is cut by a fifth! The news isn't so good for us females though with our life expectancy getting shorter as the age gap gets bigger! And it doesn't matter either whether your man is a toy boy or sugar daddy!!

Little Alisha Black could be Britain’s youngest ever baby bridesmaid, watching her parents tie the knot just 2 hours after she made her appearance into this world! Alisha was born two weeks late at Calderdale Royal Hospital at 1.50pm on Monday before joining her parents, Siobhan and Robert for their wedding ceremony in Halifax at 4pm. Bride to be Siobhan went into labour during the early hours of her wedding day but as she told the Yorkshire Post, “I thought there'd be plenty of time” to give birth before the ceremony. In the end though “it was a bit of a tight squeeze!”

Tom Hanks lived up to his reputation as one Hollywood’s romantic leading men by helping a stranded bride get to the church on time! In a scene that wouldn’t look out of place in one of his movies, Tom halted filming in Rome on Angels and Demons, the sequel to the Da Vinci Code to offer bride, Natalia Dearnley his arm after her wedding car got caught up in the traffic grid lock caused by the film’s production vehicles and tourists. According to the report in Sydney's Daily Telegraph, he yelled "cut" and rushed over to help the damsel in distress when he noticed her wedding car stuck behind all the traffic. In true Hollywood style, he scooped up her veil and whisked her through the crowds to the city's famous Pantheon where her groom was waiting!

Kian Egan married the former Hollyoaks actress, Jodi Albert in a stunning beach ceremony in Barbados.The couple exchanged vows on Turtle beach in front of Jodi's former on screen family in Hollyoaks and members of Westlife whilst being serenaded by a gospel choir playing 'Love is in the Air'. They then retired to the mansion frequented by Simon Cowell to party the night away!

Denise Van Outen stunned the world last week when she wed her techicolour dreamboat in a secret ceremony in the Seychelles. She and musical star, Lee Meads tied the knot on the beach in a wedding that surprised all they knew. Denise and Lee met on the BBC1 talent show "Any Dream Will Do" where Lee was trying out for the lead role in the West End musical "Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Lee landed the lead role and also the heart of judge, Denise van Outen.

Every girl dreams of the perfect fairy tale wedding but one Devon couple really took the idea to new heights when they donned full Shrek costumes complete with green paint and wigs for their wedding last week! And even the guests entered into the spirit with Donkey, Maid Marion, Robin Hood, Snow White and Noddy all attending the day and helping the couple celebrate. Bride Christine England and groom, Keith Green spendt three hours in make up and had costumes specially designed so that they could walk down the aisle as Princess Fiona and Shrek from the hit movie! Christine said in the article in the Telegraph newspaper, that "Normal weddings are great but no one will ever forget this one!"
