Or so scientists would have us believe. According to US researchers, the romantic candlelit dinner is soon to be a thing of the past as scented candles are bad for your health. The American Chemical Society’s Annual Conference heard last week that the smoke given off by scented candles is laced with harmful toxins linked to cancer, eczema and asthma. Little Alisha Black could be Britain’s youngest ever baby bridesmaid, watching her parents tie the knot just 2 hours after she made her appearance into this world! Alisha was born two weeks late at Calderdale Royal Hospital at 1.50pm on Monday before joining her parents, Siobhan and Robert for their wedding ceremony in Halifax at 4pm. Exchanging the traditional parish church for sun, sea and sand, it appears many of you are choosing to escape the credit crunch and endless wet English summers by flying off to foreign climes for your big day. According to a recent survey by Mintel, one in six couples flew off to warmer climes to exchange those all important vows this year. The latest findings by the leading market research company estimates that 51,300 couples opted for weddings abroad, 16 percent of the 320,000 weddings that have taken place this year and a massive increase of 43% since 2003!

Sarah Ayton, one of the 3 blondes in a boat who sailed their way to Olympic gold victory in Bejing back in the summer tied the knot to fellow Olympic winner Nick Dempsey in an Olympic ceremony in October.
