Or so scientists would have us believe. According to US researchers, the romantic candlelit dinner is soon to be a thing of the past as scented candles are bad for your health. The American Chemical Society’s Annual Conference heard last week that the smoke given off by scented candles is laced with harmful toxins linked to cancer, eczema and asthma. Reseachers at the South Carolina State University burnt a range of candles and collected and tested the substances given off. Little Alisha Black could be Britain’s youngest ever baby bridesmaid, watching her parents tie the knot just 2 hours after she made her appearance into this world! Alisha was born two weeks late at Calderdale Royal Hospital at 1.50pm on Monday before joining her parents, Siobhan and Robert for their wedding ceremony in Halifax at 4pm. Bride to be Siobhan went into labour during the early hours of her wedding day but as she told the Yorkshire Post, “I thought there'd be plenty of time” to give birth before the ceremony. In a sneak preview of the much awaited second series of Ashes to Ashes (the follow up to “Life on Mars”), a pair of our Victorian 1003 wedding boots take part in a shootout. In a feast of 1980’s batwing jumpers and blue eyeliner set to a soundtrack of Human League and Bucks Fizz, the show is set to return to our screens later this year. Our Victorian boots feature in a scene where WPC Sharon Granger (played by actress Montserrat Lombard) gets involved in a shootout while dressed up in full bridal gear. One resourceful bride from the Ukraine is advertising for guests to help her celebrate her nuptials! The bride from Eastern Europe posted a classified advert on the ads website Gumtree earlier this week asking for 30 “decent guests” to help her fill her side of the church at her wedding in London next week.
