Weddings au Naturel

A floral wedding theme is always popular and pretty, and in the spring and summer months we have an abundance of beautiful natural blossoms to choose from. Fortunate are the bride and groom who can hold their wedding out of doors and let nature share in their day - providing some dramatic natural effects and making a gorgeous backdrop to photos.

If the weather's likely to be variable, hire a marquee, and if the budget allows, put up an arbour to train flowers over for those special pictures. But if the weather won't allow such luxury, you can incorporate the freshness of nature and let flowers run riot in your design scheme.

If it's in season, use your favourite flower to use as your wedding theme, whether it be roses, lilies, orchids or daffodils. Or think about hiring pot plants to decorate the venue, so that they can live to bloom again another day! Then again, paper or silk flowers will look pretty all year round - use them for corsages, bouquets, headdresses and table favours. Choose confetti made of dried petals instead of the usual paper kind. Match your outfit and your bridesmaids' to the floral theme. If you're carrying pink roses, go for delicate pastel colours and soft designs to complement the flowers.
